I am a Professor in department of Sociology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I obtained my PhD in Sociology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), where I spent most of my time as a Pre-doc trainee at Carolina Population Center (CPC). My research areas cross social demography, migration and immigration, family and life course, gender disparity and Population health/well-being. Currently I am the director of Centre for Chinese Family Studies (CCFS), Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies. I also serve as the Assistant Dean (Research) for Faculty of Social Science at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
